Located in the Chesapeake water basin, the Clothes Basket Laundry is conscious of the chemicals that we drain into the environment. Our softened water needs less detergent to clean your clothes, so minimal detergents enter our water system.
Our fluff and fold drop off service offers petroleum free detergents for those who are conscientious or have skin sensitivity to petroleum products.
Softened water is not the only answer to a better, more environmentally friendly laundry. In fact, water that is too soft is bad for the environment. That is why our water is further treated to in order to cut our carbon foot print by having the ability to run our water softener at a lower setting, while providing cleaner laundry.
When you drop off your laundry at our Fluff & Fold service, the water is extracted from them before they are dried. The extraction process reduces the amount of water in your laundry from the standard 70% to 35%. With less water held in your clothes, less gas is used to dry them further reducing our carbon foot print.
